The 2026 MG Hector Facelift: Bigger Screen Smarts and a Sharper Look at a Friendlier Price
Just yesterday (December 15, 2025) JSW MG Motor India quietly dropped the refreshed 2026 MG Hector into showrooms — and the timing couldn’t be better.
With the mid-size SUV segment suddenly packed with fresh rivals, MG has given its longest-serving model a timely polish: a bolder face, smoother tech inside, two brand-new colours and — best of all — prices that are actually lower than before.
Starting at just ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory), the 5-seater petrol version is now roughly ₹1.5–2 lakh cheaper than the outgoing model. The 7-seater Hector Plus kicks off at ₹17.29 lakh. Diesel versions (and the 6-seater layout) arrive early next year. Bookings are already open; deliveries begin this month.
What’s Actually New?
The changes are smart and focused — exactly what a six-year-old bestseller needs.

- Two-finger swipe adjusts AC, three-finger swipe controls music

Level-2 ADAS (adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, auto emergency braking)
Six airbags, 360-camera, electronic stability control, hill-hold
Engines — Same, Reliable Formula
- For now only the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (143 hp / 250 Nm)
Choose 6-speed manual or smooth CVT
Diesel (2.0-litre, 170 hp / 350 Nm) returns early 2026 with manual gearbox - Real-world mileage still hovers around 12–14 km/l (petrol) — perfectly usable for city + highway family runs.
Quick Verdict
The 2026 MG Hector facelift isn’t a revolution — it doesn’t need to be.
MG has simply made a good family SUV noticeably better value: lower price, sharper looks, faster screen, easier parking, and the same big, comfortable cabin that families love.
If you want a spacious 5- or 7-seater with a giant screen, panoramic roof, Level-2 safety aids and an unbeatable ownership package (3 years unlimited warranty + 3 years free service + 3 years roadside assistance) — at a price lower than last year — the new Hector suddenly looks very hard to ignore.
